International Address Verification

Verify Address now checks addresses outside the United States. Pass context with an ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code, such as context=GBR or context=FRA, and the API returns the standardized address from that country's dataset. Requests without context verify against USPS CASS data, as before.

Details

  • One response shape: address_line_one, city, state, zip_code and country_iso_2 are populated for every country, along with confidence and fit
  • Country record in match: Outside the United States there is no CASS record, so match carries the standardized address from that country's dataset
  • Coverage follows your key: The address datasets your API key is licensed for decide which countries it can verify
  • US unchanged: US verification stays CASS certified, with delivery point, DPV flags, carrier route and ZIP+4
  • No charge for no match: Only a match draws on your balance
